Mira Costa Model United Nations is excited to announce our annual LAIMUN Tours! During LAIMUN, taking place on December 5th (Saturday) and December 6th (Sunday), we will offer introductory tours for students and parents who are interested in learning more about Mira Costa’s MUN program. These tours will include a detailed presentation on Mira Costa MUN, followed by a Q&A session, and a walkthrough of active LAIMUN committees. From an overview of what Model UN is, to information regarding debate and preparation, these tours will provide participants with everything they need to know about getting involved and the numerous benefits of doing so. Additionally, you will have the chance to explore the Mira Costa campus and learn more about student life within our program. Participants have the opportunity to speak with Mira Costa delegates, witness live debate, and learn about the different aspects of Mira Costa MUN. We hope these experiences inspire incoming Mira Costa students and South Bay residents to become part of our MUN family!
We hope you will join us as we introduce to you the lively world that is Model UN, where delegates grow not only their debate, researching, and writing skills, but discover that their voices and ideas matter in making a true impact. These conferences allow delegates to compete on the local, national, and international scale as they learn about topics and issues that have real-world effects, and try their hand at creating solutions. These subjects range from geopolitical issues, to country relations, to conflict resolution, all while aimed at simulating authentic United Nations discussions.
