LAIMUN now requires position paper instead of dockets. Papers are due on 11/28 by 11:59 p.m.. Position paper submissions are required for delegates to be eligible for individual awards offered in both advanced and novice committees. It is recommended that delegates bring a printed copy of their position paper for reference during debate.

Delegates will be scored on a points system with a possible 5 points per comment, 10 points per speech, and 5 points per unmoderated caucusing. Maximum points will be allocated to delegates that use their speaking time, both formal and informal, to showcase accurate policy knowledge and original, pragmatic solutions. - 5 pages max - double spaced Times New Roman 12
- One position paper per topic
- At LAIMUN we have a strict anti-plagiarism policy. Any delegate found to have misrepresented others’ work as their own will be ineligible for individual awards and referred to advisors.
Structure:
- Background: general background information and history of topic
- UN Involvement: Past UN action and NGO activity.
- Country Policy and Solutions: Your specific country’s policy (taking into account social, cultural, political, and economic considerations) with detailed and creative solutions to the issue at hand.

- In Novice committees, Best Delegate, Outstanding, and Commendation Awards will be given to delegates based on their quantified performance in debate.
- In Advanced committees, Best Delegate (Gavel), Outstanding, and Commendation Awards will be given as well, based on delegates' quantified performance in debate.
